You walk into most yoga studios and you’re one of forty mats on the floor. Nobody adjusts your form. Nobody catches that your shoulders are creeping up. You leave feeling stretched but not really taught. That’s not how it works here. Our classes are small, our instructors are certified, and you get the kind of attention that actually changes how you move. You can start this week.
What Yoga Problems Do You Have?
Most yoga frustrations start with a class that’s too big and too fast. You hold a pose wrong for an hour because nobody corrects you. You hurt your knee or your shoulder. You walk out feeling worse than when you came in. That’s not yoga’s fault. That’s a studio that prioritizes head count over teaching.
Other common issues show up too. Tight hips from sitting at a desk all day in Indianapolis. A low back that flares up after long drives or long meetings. Tension in your neck and shoulders that no amount of stretching at home seems to fix. Stress that’s making it hard to sleep. A general feeling of being stuck in your body.
DIY yoga from YouTube videos can help, but it can also build bad habits that take years to undo. The cold Indiana winters cut down on outdoor activity too, which makes the stiffness worse from November through March. A trained instructor in a small class catches what a video never will, and the results show up faster.
Our Yoga Studio Services
As we provide many types of yoga, you can choose a style that suits your physical needs and objectives. Vinyasa Yoga is a class where you move continuously. It connects your breathing to your physical actions so that your body becomes warmer and your muscles become stronger. It is a suitable choice if you prefer a session that functions as physical exercise, but Yin Yoga is different. In this class you stay in positions for multiple minutes so that you can affect the deep tissue between your muscles. It is slow and silent and it produces results for people who have limited range of motion.
With Restorative Yoga, you use bolsters and blocks to support your body so that your nervous system can become calm. It is the class to attend when you feel pressure, lack sleep or require a period of rest. Gentle Yoga is a style that everyone can perform because the pace is slow and the teacher provides alternative movements. And this is useful for those who are beginning to exercise again.
For women who are pregnant, Prenatal Yoga modifies standard positions for every three month period of pregnancy. Due to the physical changes after birth, Postpartum Yoga assists your body during the first months of your recovery. Private Yoga Lessons are available if you require a teacher to focus only on you because you have particular aims, physical injuries or limited time. If you have no previous experience, Beginner Yoga is a class where you learn the foundational movements in an environment that is not demanding.
To reach specific results, Yoga for Flexibility is a practice that helps you increase the movement of your muscles and joints. Yoga For Strengthening is a class where you hold positions with precision so that your muscle endurance increases. In Meditation Classes, teachers help you reach a state where your thoughts are quiet. Breathwork Sessions are classes where you use specific ways of breathing to make your nervous system calm and increase your concentration.
On our website or through your Mindbody account, you can reserve a place in the sessions.
Yoga for Indianapolis Bodies
Indianapolis is a city built around desks and cars. People sit for work. They sit in traffic. They sit through long Midwest winters with limited outdoor options. All of that creates a very specific set of physical patterns that yoga is built to address. Tight hip flexors. Rounded shoulders. Low back stiffness. Necks that ache by Wednesday.
We serve all of Indianapolis from our 46240 location on the north side, which is convenient for clients in Carmel, Fishers, Zionsville, Nora, Meridian Hills, and Broad Ripple. Boutique yoga options on the north side are still limited compared to downtown, so we fill a real gap for residents who don’t want to fight downtown traffic for a class. Our instructors know the local body type because we work with it every single day. That kind of local familiarity matters more than people realize.
Why Choose Us for Yoga
Foundations Studio has been part of the Indianapolis wellness scene since October 2020. Every yoga instructor holds accredited certifications. Our class sizes stay small so you get actual coaching, not just a voice from the front of a packed room. The studio is owner-led, and the owner is in the building teaching regularly.
We provide mats, towels, and water for every class. Coffee, tea, and bars are available before and after. Pricing is upfront with no surprise fees. The intro 3-pack lets you try the studio at a discounted rate. Our 24 hour cancellation policy keeps the schedule fair for everyone, and you can sign up or cancel through Mindbody or our website.
Our Yoga classes
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa links breath and movement in a flowing, dynamic sequence. Each class is uniquely designed. Our instructors plan sessions rather than repeat the same sequence.
Yin Yoga
Yin targets the connective tissue: fascia, ligaments, and joints, through long-held, passive poses. It’s a slow practice that builds flexibility and cultivates meditative attention.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga uses props to fully support the body in restful poses held for several minutes. The nervous system downregulates, tension releases, and recovery deepens.
Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga moves at a slower pace with careful attention to accessibility and comfort. Poses are modified to work for a wide range of bodies and abilities.
Prenatal Yoga
Designed for expectant mothers, prenatal yoga supports the body through the changes of each trimester. Poses are adapted for safety and comfort.
Postpartum Yoga
Postpartum yoga helps new mothers return to movement with care and intention. We focus on gentle rebuilding: core reconnection, breath, and stress relief, at a pace that respects recovery.
Private Yoga Lessons
Private yoga sessions are built entirely around your goals, limitations, and schedule. Your instructor designs each session specifically for you; no generic sequencing, no one-size-fits-all approach.
Beginner Yoga
Never tried yoga before? Our beginner classes teach foundational poses, alignment principles, and breathing techniques at a pace that doesn’t leave you behind.
Yoga for Flexibility
Flexibility work in yoga targets the whole body through movement, breath, and time. Our instructors cue alignment to ensure you’re lengthening safely and effectively.
Yoga for Strengthening
Yoga builds functional strength through bodyweight movement and sustained holds. Our instructors design sessions that challenge the whole body.
Meditation Classes
Meditation builds the mental focus and stress resilience that carries into every area of life. Our classes introduce accessible techniques for breath awareness, attention training, and nervous system regulation.
Breathwork Sessions
Breathwork uses intentional breathing techniques to shift your nervous system and mental state. Different approaches target stress relief, energy, emotional processing, and focus.
