Pilates

Pilates is a full body workout improving muscle tone and endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, posture and mobility. This low-impact, controlled method of strength and resistance training focuses on smaller, deeper muscle groups that support the body’s structure and improve overall health.

Pilates benefits students of all ages, genders, activity and ability levels, and can be practiced in two forms: Reformer Pilates or mat Pilates. At Foundations, we may incorporate the following equipment for enhancement:

Reformer Pilates Classes

Reformer Pilates is performed on a reformer machine, which consists of a sliding carriage maneuvered by springs, ropes and pulleys. The reformer adds diversity, variety and varying degrees of resistance and difficulty to a workout.

Pilates Reformer Private Appointments
Private appointments are scheduled at an agreed upon time between the instructor and client. We offer private 1-on-1, duo, trio and group private appointments.

Pilates Reformer Group Classes
Designed to accommodate clients of all experience and ability levels by offering modifications and exercise variations as needed. We combine classical and modern forms of Pilates to provide clients with a safe and effective total body workout.

Gentle Flow Pilates Reformer
Designed to accommodate clients who are seeking a workout gentler on their joints by flowing at a slower pace and adding in more stretching, balance and flexibility.

Cardio Pilates Reformer
Designed to use the jump boards and other functional exercises to burn calories while toning. Your muscular endurance will also be challenged with increased reps and decreased rest periods between exercises.

Intermediate/Advanced Pilates Reformer
Designed to be a strength training class challenging your endurance, balance and full body conditioning. Not recommended for beginners.

Advanced Pilates Reformer
Designed to be a faster paced class geared towards clients who have experience on the Reformer. This Class involves more challenging exercises with minimal rest between sets. This class is intended for those clients who truly understand and can perform the Pilates principles. Not recommended for beginners.

Tower & Props Pilates Reformer
Designed to add a unique twist to our regular reformer classes by adding in the tower and various props each week.

Pilates Reformer Machine

Mat Pilates Classes

Mat Pilates is performed on a mat using body weight, Pilates props and TRX straps.

Mat Pilates
Mat-based Pilates that focuses on core strength, muscle toning, stability, posture, proper breath control and flexibility. Classes will be taught using controlled movements that lengthen and tone upper and lower body while engaging the mind and body. Each mat Pilates class will conclude with restorative stretch and breath work. The instructor will offer modifications to all movements to accommodate specific needs and abilities. All levels are welcome.

Mat Pilates TRX Fusion
A mat based Pilates class fused with TRX (Total Body Resistance Exercise) that focuses on core strength, muscle toning, stability, posture, proper breath control and flexibility. TRX is a suspension training system that uses your own body weight for resistance.

Each class will work to balance all muscle groups’ strength and flexibility while challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes will be taught using controlled movements that lengthen and tone upper and lower body while engaging the mind and body. Each mat Pilates class will conclude with restorative stretch and breath work. The instructor will offer modifications to all movements to accommodate specific needs and abilities. All levels are welcome.

Yoga

Foundations yoga offers a well-rounded, full body workout, designed to center and strengthen the mind and body through gentle flows, stretching, light weights and resistance bands.

Yoga Classes

Yoga
This mindful stretch & strengthen class is a fun way to start your Saturday. Movements are adapted to meet you where you are, aiming to create space and stability. Each class will include some floor, kneeling, standing, and seated postures as well as guided meditation.

Yoga TRX Fusion
This class incorporates slower paced yoga flows and stretching along with TRX (Total Body Resistance Exercise), weights and resistance bands to create a well-rounded full body workout leaving you feeling strong and centered.

TRX is a suspension training system that uses your own body weight for resistance.
(75 minutes)

Wellness

Myofascial Release (MFR) Yin Yoga Fusion
Designed to relieve tension and tightness in the body, myofascial release (MFR) Yin yoga fusion combines the stress melting practices of MFR with the slower, meditative practice of Yin yoga. MFR uses various manual techniques to apply sustained pressure into the fascia to relieve tension and tightness in the body. Yin is a style of yoga that targets the deeper connective tissue (fascia) through slow/moderate pulling or pressure to release tension and create greater mobility. This class will help reduce muscle soreness, assist in the recovery process, increase circulation and help to relax the body.

Stretch on the Pilates Reformer
Designed for you to receive a total body stretch to reward your body for its hard work. This class is designed to satisfy all levels, as the goal is to treat and restore your body. You will leave class feeling relaxed and limber!

Mamaste Strong
This small group class is intentionally designed for pregnant & postpartum women to support you through the mental and physical demands of pregnancy into motherhood.
Prenatal will have an emphasis on strength to help you build endurance, stretching to alleviate discomfort and breathwork to prepare your body and mind for a confident journey into motherhood.
Post Natal will focus on reconnecting to your core and pelvic floor, begin to build strength back in your body and relieve tightness and tension from lack of sleep, constant baby holding and feeding. For postnatal mommas it is not recommended to attend this class earlier than 6 weeks postpartum or 8 weeks if you had a cesarean birth. All non-crawlers are welcome to attend with mama!
